Cultural worker and fine arts professor Carlos Motta joins Pratt’s Indigenous Student Union and faculty to reimagine creativity, education and the role of art in reshaping communities.
Motta explores his work in the Colombian Amazon in the collaborative multimedia installation Jjagiyi: Air of Life (2023). This work investigates the enduring impacts of missionary colonialism in the Colombian Amazon and highlights Indigenous resistance, traditional cosmogonies, and cultural resilience against historical trauma.
